I have been using Hontech since I moved to SD in the fall of '07. So far, I've had several oil changes, two inspections, a minor service, and one big service. I will be moving out of SD for a year & I've already resolved to move back within walking radius of Hontech when I get back, because I love them that much & can't imagine taking my Civic anywhere else.They are dependable, quick, honest, and friendly - when I took my car in for its big service, I nearly went into heart failure when they emailed me the estimate, which was a multipage PDF document with all sorts of stuff that I didn't understand. The owner called & we spent 20 minutes going over everything line by line. I've never felt like I was getting talked into needless service, my car always feels better after it gets back from their shop, and they are great about staying in touch if your car is going to be in for a while. They even called to make sure I was OK with replacing a $2 bolt when my car was getting $2K worth of work, since it wasn't on the original estimate!As a bonus, they always have dog treats for my dog when we come in & shower attention on her, which is always nice.

I LOVE this place. It was recommended to me by two other Honda owners. They took amazing care of my 1997 Civic--helped me get it to 200K miles before I sold it. They treat everyone with respect, and explain anything to you.When my radiator blew in N. County, I called them to talk to them about what the dealership told me needed to be replaced, and how much it would cost me. They told me information to say to the dealer, and how to make sure I wasn't getting taken by the salesmen in the shop. They totally had my back!I really wish it was open on the weekends! It's too far out of my way for regular oil changes, but I definitely make appointments for the bigger tune ups.

Fantastic Service!I love Hontech more than any other non-dealer shop in San Diego. They have impeccable service and tend to go above and beyond on a very consistent basis. I've only had one bad experience: a missing cap of some sort spewed oil all over my engine bay, the subsequent steam cleaning left the car inoperable after a few miles driving. In light of the inconvenience, they remedied it beyond my satisfaction by first fixing the problem, then sending my mom (her car) and I to dinner on their dime.One word of warning, expect to pay near- if not same-as-dealer pricing on most services. Think of it as Honda dealer pricing, with Lexus-level service.I'm excited now that they service Toyota and Lexus, too!
